Following their excellent start in our Foundation Unit, our children join Class Two, a Y1/2 mixed age range class. There are currently 27 children in Class 2 - 14 in Year 1 and in Year 2, 13. Our curriculum is organised to ensure that our children access work at their own personal level within Year 1 and 2 programmes of study and topics. To ensure a smooth transition from our Foundation unit to year 1, play opportunities such as construction, role play and learning through games are built into our daily plans.
We like to take the opportunity to work with other classes in our school. We regularly work with our Reception children to plan and improve our outdoor area. We work with Class 3 to help them assess their stories and they help us assess our listening skills.
We have a lovely classroom with an outdoor play area, 5 computers and a smartboard. We have a role play corner and a wet area for Art, Science and DT.
